"A Catholic Cemetery is place where the bodies of the dead are placed with eager anticipation for the second coming of Christ. As Christ rose from the tomb on the third day, he promises that our bodies too will rise again, death is not the end. With this is mind the Church states "The bodies of the dead must be treated with respect and charity, in faith and hope of the Resurrection.  The burial of the dead is a corporal work of mercy; it honors the children of God, who are temples of the Holy Spirit” (CCC 2300).
